“she said in an interview she
wouldn't do anything new if she could do it all again”
Keep On It, 2005
There are a small handful of local
artists that I've been lucky enough to get to know that have come to
be full-on inspirations for me. One of those is Tanya Philipovich.
I remember the first time I met her. We were on a bill at The
Cameron House put together by Marcus Walker. I didn't really know
what to expect when she settled on to the stage, but as soon as the
music started, I knew we were going to hear something special. And
we did. Ever since, I've been inspired by her outside the box
lyrics, quirky melodies, and artful charisma.
And I still love her debut cd “Keep
On It”. Hasn't weathered a minute (though I'm anxiously awaiting
her next offering).
