Keep On It, 2005

There are a small handful of local artists that I've been lucky enough to get to know that have come to be full-on inspirations for me. One of those is Tanya Philipovich. I remember the first time I met her. We were on a bill at The Cameron House put together by Marcus Walker. I didn't really know what to expect when she settled on to the stage, but as soon as the music started, I knew we were going to hear something special. And we did. Ever since, I've been inspired by her outside the box lyrics, quirky melodies, and artful charisma.

And I still love her debut cd “Keep On It”. Hasn't weathered a minute (though I'm anxiously awaiting her next offering).

Tanya will be playing with us this coming Friday at The Press Club (850 Dundas St. W.) 10pm

And I'll be playing some stuff solo as part of a songwriter's night that Tanya hosts with Lucas Stagg next Tues, Aug.19 at Graffiti's – 8:30pm.
